Red Rocks Road Trip

Birthdays are always special, but turning 21? That’s a big one, so I wanted to make it count! I packed my bags, grabbed my trusty Canon T70 loaded with Kodak Gold 200 film, and set out for Colorado. My plan? Some live music, gorgeous views, and a little adventure. 

A Night Under the Stars at Red Rocks

The centerpiece of my Colorado adventure was a concert at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre. There’s something surreal about watching your favorite band perform as the sun dips below the horizon, painting the sky in warm oranges and pinks. The natural acoustics and the energy of the crowd made the night feel like a dream.

What’s a trip to Colorado without a hike? The morning after the concert, I laced up my boots and made my way to Mount Falcon. The trail was a perfect mix of peaceful meadows and rocky climbs, with views that made every step worth it. My camera got a workout as I tried to capture the way the sunlight danced through the trees and onto the trail. The air was crisp, the views were endless, and my lungs were only mildly regretting the altitude. Armed with my camera, I wandered through meadows, up rocky paths, and into some of the most stunning landscapes I’ve ever seen.

Shooting my birthday adventure on film made the whole experience even more special. There’s a certain excitement in waiting to see how the photos turn out, and Kodak Gold 200 delivered big time. The warm tones brought out the rich reds of the rocks and the light through the trees, making every shot feel extra special. It’s like the film itself was celebrating with me.

Looking back on my 21st birthday, I couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate. Colorado gave me music, nature, and a sense of freedom that perfectly captured the spirit of this new chapter in my life. And thanks to my trusty film camera, I have tangible memories to hold onto forever.
